LoLaD - The movie!

Lights!
Camera!
Random Mayhem!

The year is 2004 and it’s been three years since the Faline Incident sort of outed supernaturals to the world in varying degrees. 2002 was a bad year. Let’s leave it at that. Lots of stupid people on both sides of the issue yadda yadda yadda. 2003 was interesting with a lot of people deciding to put differences aside because, well, they could make money off of the supernatural. Lots and lots of money. (This was proved by the vampire Yousef Saad who defied convention in order to win $1 million from James Randi. The rumours that he made Randi a vampire afterwards are lies. Really.)
2003 also saw an explosion in supernatural movies staring real supernatural creatures, to say nothing of the use of were as stunt men in movies since they can heal at incredible rates. A wide varieties of movies began, the most notable being:
The Texas Were Massacre, directed by John Woo and being an interesting take on Faline and Trail. It has been widely boycotted by weres for repeated references to poaching and hunting down varmints.
Faline: The Movie (Live action version). Picture the Friday the 13th movies. Replace Jason with Faline. Clone Faline. Repeat. Wipe out small city.
Faline: The Movie (animated). A kids movie about how weres get picked on and how everyone is just the same inside if we ignore differences. A hacked version of it ends with the weres ripping the humans open and the humans shooting the weres and everyone saying “ooh, our blood IS the same inside” as they die while holding hands to the Care Bears theme song.
Trailing The Results of Trail, the first documentary on Trail. Noted mostly for sticking to hard facts as opposed to stories and being rather brief and disturbing as a result. It spared neither weres, vampire or humans in causing the mess that was Trail and is generally banned as a result.

A variety of other movies abound (player suggestions needed :p) and Hollywood wants to make more! And more! And soon rule the vorld, err, world, err, they’re just kidding. Right?

ADDENDUM:

PCs MUST be weres or vampires. All character concepts must be cleared with by Alcar.
The reason for this is simply to reduce the amount of different supernaturals in the game, and keep it's focus narrower.

The Plot

“True art lies in peeling away the world and drawing forth the Story underneath it to bring it to the light. One must see into the very soul of things to be able to render them for the audience. Using decent image rendering is a must.”
- Terry Praxar, on Faline: The (Animated) Movie.

The PCs have been hired by Andre Belushi, the director of a movie. He’s French, and human (well, assuming the French are human, but we’ll stick with it). They get to be actors, gofers, and whatever else works on a movie set. The movie is currently titled Were World and is a 50’s era Sci-Fi spoof that is supposed to mix pathos, comedy, horror, romance, social criticism and pathos along with tributes to slasher films, Sesame Street and the works of Henry Darger, Dear Abby, and HP Lovecraft.

Currently the company funding the movie, Disunited Artists, is having trouble finding backers for it and it’s in danger of being shut down! The game will follow the PCs going to lots of Hlolywood parties, meeting locals, and trying to get funding for the movie, and discover who the writer of it was, anyway, and why Andre is so desperate to have it made....

PC Creation

Reporter: “So you’re a hero?”
Super Were: “Yes! Are you saying I’m not one? Are you?”
R: “No! No! Of course not. But all those people you killed...”
SW: “I had to make sure the vampire was dead.”
R: “You dropped five cars on him.”
SW: “I saw him twitch. I think.”
R: “Questions are also being asked about your fight with Lupus..”
SW: “That was my evil twin.”
R: “Are you sure he was the evil one?”
SW: “Excuse me?”
- From “Super Were: The Movie(TM)”

For this game we’re going to use the UA system because it’s fun, and quick, and skills are fun to make for it. The usual 220 points, 30-70 stat range applies when the PC is first built, but this will be modified based on what kind of supernatural they are.
Caveat: This is intended to be a fun game. PCs from previous games are NOT admissible, though players may get to play them as NPCs if the situation warrants.
PCs will have recently become supernaturals (a vampire can be no older than 50, human + supernatural years) or were born them and left home to seek their fortune in the new world.

PCs MUST be weres or vampires. All character concepts must be cleared with by Alcar.
The reason for this is simply to reduce the amount of different supernaturals in the game, and keep it's focus narrower.
After making the basic PC, you add the supernatural parts. This includes skills and bonuses/penalties to stats.

SAMPLE PC

Player Name: Alcar
Character Name: Mathew Talon
Summary: A young Vampire trying to make it in showbiz.
Background: Mathew was your normal kid until he hung out with the wrong crowd in his last year of highschool. He went from being in the track team and taking martial arts to keep in shape to taking drugs and pimping girlfriends. He dropped out of school and spent the next year on the streets, whee he met the really wrong crowd and a girl, who turned out to be a vampire, and made him one, after explaning that pimping was really bad and he should never, ever, ever do it. Again. Or she'd come back. She left the next day and he's been trying to adjust ever since. (She thinks he died.) Not much for authority or conforming, he told certain vampires to go stake themselves and left for Hollywood. Now, if only he could act....
Dark Secret: Mathew can read minds, even that of other vampires. Possibly because of the drugs in his system when he was brought over, or for other reasons.
Personality: Mathew is a confused young man trying to make sense of what he is now, what it means, why he keeps getting into peoples heads and trying to be a tough guy.
Obsession: Being tough.
