Klin Lijarl (Alcar)

Klin Lijarl

Player Name: Alcar
Summary: A guard for the a'Lin diplomat.
Species: a'Lin.
Description: Klin is a 5', green skinned hairless person with big, wide black eyes, no mouth and no ears. Other than that and only having 3 fingers and no toes, he could pass as a human. Really. Like all a'Lin, he wears a simple skin weave suits of invisible clothing that can be used to hide and blend into shadows as well as look like normal clothing at need.
Species Summary: A'Lin are powerful psychics who are unable to kill (and survive the experience). They all look mostly alike and have no sexual organs at all, looking disturbingly like dolls to humans. They reproduce rarely and only on their home world so no one is sure how to tell males from females, or if they even have sexes as others understand the term. They tend to enjoy temperate climates and dislike extreme cold (though some of them can make themselves warm telekinetically). Their psychic powers are incredibly powerful but tend to be focused on subtlety rather than blatant displays of power.
PC Background: Klin is the first successful experiment by the a'Lin elders in making a a'Lin psychic capable of killing. Telekinetics altered him before he was born and he is the first a'Lin in a very long time who can kill without problems. The downside is that his empathy is almost non -existent so he can never find a mate and he's the only a'Lin who can't teleport, which makes living on the home world mostly impossible. He's been trained to guard the diplomat and kill for him if need be, but was still raised in a society that is against killing so is very reluctant to actually take a life. (The fact that the a'Lin elders told him they'd placed a bomb inside him that would go off if he killed too many people was also a factor.)
Personality: Klin is alone, in a way no other a'Lin can be. He's unable to live among them and lacks the subtle telekinetic and telepathic control to be able to extend his life like the rest of his species can. He's taken refuge in duty and obeying the diplomat. It says a lot about his culture that he's never even considered rebelling or thinking that his limitations were placed inside him deliberately.
Obsession: Defending those he's been ordered to. (Service.)
Wound Points: 50

Passions:
Fear: Becoming a killer (Self)
Rage: Seeing someone he's been ordered to protect die.
Noble: Saving the life of others without having to take lives.

Notes:
Focus: This skill allows a'Lin to mediate/concentrate for 3 rounds (10 seconds or so) and roll the skill each round. The best roll is then used as a modifier to the next use of a psychic power (minus or plus is up to the pc). For each 20 below the skill level the focus roll is, the pc gets a 10 modifier up to 30 maximum.
Telepathy: Klin can read minds and alter peoples very identities if pushed hard enough by some need. Mostly, he just uses it to probe people, find information, scramble thoughts and confuse others. He can control others this way but hates having to do it. He's not capable of healing hurt minds to any great degree (but how much of that is conditioning is anyone's guess) but is good at hurting them.
Telekinesis: Klin can stop a roomfull of people from moving, hold doors etc, shut, break every bone in someones body, stop hearts, open doors and other things of legend attributed to powerful telekinetics. However, his ability to heal himself is the limit of using his power at a deep level ... if really desperate he might be able to heal someone else but it's not likely.
Empathy: He can tell if he's being lied to most of the time intuitively. Other than that, it's mostly useless. He can use it on others to make them get nervous and leave an area, or perhaps induce heart attacks but that would never occur to him.
