The alter tongue is a special language invented by 2 children called haltomish, or "the language belonging to us" and has no relation to halreymish, or English, the "language belonging to others."
This languages main pecularity is it makes no distinction between nouns and verbs -- to name something is to act on it.
Caybi - "drink"
meime reubi aostrol - "the darkness is safer than the light"
Rey - "outsiders" or "Them"
sushem reitol - "protect me against being separated from myself"
Sustol - "touch me in a sensetive place"
Tol = "Us."
