Legends

F.A.Q. ~ Players ~ Powers ~ World ~ Main

In a world where magic exists and the supernatural is real, myths and legends take on entirely new and different meanings for those who are part of the supernatural or paranatural worlds and often tend to over lap somewhat.

Paranatural Legends:(Most of them recent)

Beck, Amanda: (1984 - ): A young girl in Canada who's one of the few reliable mediums for comunicating iwth the dead. She is currently on tour promoting her book The Other Side: A Useless Guidebook.

Horqarnek (1915 - ): An Inuit shaman with the ability to control the cold. There are stories that he plans to bring about a new ice age to crush the white men who harmed his people, but most ignore such tales as fables. Some Inuit believe the tales to be true, and a small cult dedicated to furthering his nebulous goals can be found in some remote northern villages in Alaska, Canada and Russia.

Jacob, Father Larry (? - ?): Father Larry Jacob is a priest of indeterminate order and faith who's magical powers are unequalled in modern days. Stories claim he's called the fires of god from the skies and others that he may be forming a new inquisition to deal with the evils of the world.

Livingston, Adam (1834 - ? ) The necromancer of his age, Adam is said to have kept people alive past their time, held off death and even ressurected someone, though that has never been proven. He devoted himself mostly to banishing the dead and examining the areas between life and death and raised few zombies in his lifetime. He disappeared prior to the first world war and is presumed dead.

Marcus (? - ?): Said to be the pyrokinetic responsible for the fire that burned down Rome, whose age (and even gender) largely remain a mystery. Some claim s/he was Nero's lover or even a demon in disguise.

McCall, Eric "Eric the Red" (1942 - ): Eric is probably one of the most powerful pyrokinetics known to be alive. Brain-washed by his kin in younger days to help free Ireland from Britain, he caused more deaths with his powers than many bombs before being kidnapped by the Russians to be a secret weapon in their war against the United States. He got free by burning down over half of Moscow and, according to some, actually caused planes to explode in mid air. He ended up becoming a potent force during the Cold War and was pardoned for his earlier crimes against Britain. After the end of that war, he hunted vampires for a time but eventually settled down to retire in far northern Canada (not being welcome in Russia) where he hopes his power will cause less damage when he loses control of it.

Norton, David (1954 - ): The world's most famous Exorcist. He currently lives in a large plane that travels the world, helping those in need. While the church scoffs at his existence, many people claim he has helped their lives and some refer to him as a saint.

Olson, Amy (1968 - ): The worlds greatest living telepath, Amy possesses not only the ability to read minds but the much rarer skill of being able to change what people are thinking. Her power first came out during her youth and was revealed when she ran for a local election on a friends dare because everyone liked her and got elected mayor of Lethbridge, Alberta. at the age of 14. Realising soon after what she was, she fled the city. Her current whereabouts are unknown.

Smith, Lisa (1979 - ): Lisa is a young girl blessed -- or cursed -- with the ability to heal people with a touch. She is currently in an European monastery

Vanderbelt, James (1829 - 1886): A precog [someone with precognition] famous for his ability to predict things that wouldn't happen. Scholars are still trying to piece together his dream journals and letters to friends for some idea of things he predicted on our times and earned a sort of notriety in his own life for the strangeness of his talents. He died by suicide shortly after by 57th birthday.

Supernatural Legends:

Bright Lady, The: Given many names in legend, this sidhe, or fairy, rules the Seelie Court and helps mortals often. Legends claim she gave Arthur his sword, Prometheus the fire and Henry Ford the idea for assembly-built cars. Some claim she has a dark rival who brought agriculture to man and the workings of iron in order to harm the Lady.

Days, Ancient of: A vampire with the ability to cause entropy in anything, at any time. Not much is known of this vampire save that he is frighteningly handsome and that his power is slowly but surely destroying him as it does others.

Faceless One, The: A vampire with the frightening power of reversing the powers of those who face her Immunities become weaknesses, powers become liabilities and strength is turned against you. A strange side effect of her power is that no one ever seems to recall what she looked like after meeting her.

James, Christopher: A vampire in CA, he was a master were who was made a vampire during a game of dominance with The Faceless One. He ended up killing his entire pack and only broke free from his masters control by the time the city was cleansed of weres.

Queen Arcas: A sidhe queen who wishes to renew the war against vampires by her kind, she possesses a formidable strength of will and some claim she has enough power to Open the doors between woods and summon the Wild Hunt again.

Queen of Cats: A vampire with the strange ability to command cats to obey her through sheer force of will. She has no were blood and but is said to be able to become any kind of cat at will and destroy cats who anger with with what amounts to an OD on catnip.

Wanderer, The: One of a handful of vampire shape changers, the wanderer's name goes far back into their past, into myth and legend. Stories call the wanderer a non-human vampire, or a vampire who has movied beyond them. Reliable legends call him Proteus, and some go as far as to claim he was one of the Greek gods at one point. He tends to know much, but reveals little. The only reliable fact about him or her is the power to call in debts and people have no choice but to pay them. Almost every supernatural creature likely owes this being a debt from time time in the past, but it only collects when it feels a need to.

Others:

Charlie, Old: An indian in a small village that can be found anywhere by weres in need, hsi name seems to be passed down from generation to generation and Shaman to Shaman. Nothing much is known of him save that he gives aid when sought and no one finds him without being invited.

Trickster, The: The Native American legend, capable of taking any form and existing only to amuse itself. Perhaps a sidhe relative who chose to not leave the world, The Trickster has awesome power in this age of disbelief and people desperately seeking entertainments to escape reality.
